Easy Whole Wheat-Raisin Bread Recipe

Ingredients

 
2 cups whole wheat flour
 
1 cup raisins
 
1 cup unbleached all-purpose flour
 
2 cups nonfat buttermilk
 
2 teaspoons baking soda
 
1/2 cup molasses
 
1/2 teaspoon salt

Directions

1. Combine whole wheat flour, white flour, baking soda, salt, and raisins.
2. Stir the buttermilk and molasses into the dry ingredients. Mix well.
3. Pour into a nonstick bread pan, or a bread pan lined with a baking pan liner, and let stand for 1 hour.
4. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
5. Bake bread for 1 hour or until a wooden pick inserted in the center of the bread comes out dry.
6. Cool in pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool. Cut into 10 slices.
