Easy Roast Turkey Recipe

Easy Roast Turkey is easy indeed. My cousin has a never dying penchant for turkey and whenever she comes over she insist that I prepare my masterpiece - the Easy Roast Turkey. This recipe wont eat up much of your time, but sure will win you accolades.

Ingredients

 
1 turkey (14 lb/6.5 kg) 1
 
salt and pepper
 
dried fruits and fresh sage sprigs

Directions

Thaw turkey in refrigerator if frozen, allowing about 5 hours per pound (500 g).
Rinse out cavity with cold water; drain and pat dry.
Sprinkle cavity with salt and pepper.
Place turkey, breast up, on rack in roasting pan.
Cover bird loosely with foil (dull side out).
Cook in 325F (160C) oven about 5 1/2 hours, basting often with pan juices, until meat thermometer inserted into thickest part of thigh registers 185F (85C) and juices run clear.
Remove foil for last hour to allow turkey to brown.
Let turkey stand, covered, 15 minutes before carving.
Garnish with dried fruits and sage sprigs.
