I use to make applesauce often and can it when the kids were young-they loved apple sauce on toast with peanut butter spread on the warm toast, and then they sprinkled the warm apple sauce with cinnamon and nutmeg. It actually was quite a tasty and healthy after school snack. I ate that too when I was quite young after school. It was easy and quick.

We are patiently waiting for the North Georgia apples season to peak in a couple of weeks. A bit of a drought this summer delayed the crop. Not sure how the apples will taste from the stress, but we look forward to making applesauce.

it's a very healthy option because apples contain Vitamin C as well as a host of other antioxidant compounds.
