Easy Butter Chicken Masala Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 cup boneless chicken, preferably from chicken breasts | ||
| 2 organic tomatoes, medium sized, pureed | ||
| White onion | 1 Medium, finley sliced | |
| Garlic | 6 Clove (5gm), crushed | |
| 1 medium-sized piece of ginger, finely chopped and crushed | ||
| 3 one inch cubes of butter | ||
| Cream fresh | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Chili powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Turmeric powder | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Garam masala | 1/2 Tablespoon | |
| Salt as required | ||
| White sugar, powdered, a pinch | ||
Directions
Now this is real easy stuff! Heat butter in a pan and sauté onion and crushed garlic in it.
Meanwhile, shred chicken pieces to bite-size and mix in the masala, that is ginger, chili powder, turmeric powder and salt; see to it that the chicken pieces are well coated with the masala.
When the onions turn slightly transparent, put the chicken pieces and cook until golden brown.
Now, when the chicken is cooked, stir in the fresh cream and finally add the pureed/tomato paste. Sprinkle a pinch of sugar, if you like the butter chicken to taste a lil sweet.
Keep the pan closed and cook for another few minutes (about 10 min or so) until you feel the gravy is cooked.
Finally, sprinkle the garam masala, empty to the serving bowl and serve hot with your favorite Indian breads or steamed rice!
