Easy Apple Kuchen Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 envelopes active dry yeast | ||
| Warm water | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Eggs | 2 Large | |
| 1 package Deluxe Yellow Cake Mix | ||
| All purpose flour | 1 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Ground cinnamon | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Butter/Margarine | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Apples | 6 Medium, drained | |
Directions
Dissolve yeast in warm water in large mixer bowl.
Blend in eggs and half of dry cake mix.
Beat for 1 minute at medium speed.
Add remaining cake mix and beat for 3 minutes at medium speed.
Let rest 5 minutes.
Sprinkle flour on board.
Scrape batter out onto prepared board.
Knead batter until flour is worked in, about 100 strokes.
Place in greased bowl, cover, and let rise in warm, draft-free place for 30 minutes.
For topping, mix sugar and cinnamon in bowl; cut in butter with pastry blender or 2 knives.
Preheat oven to 350 °F.
Grease 13x9x2-inch pan and 8x8x2-inch pan.
Pare, core and slice apples.
Punch down dough with greased fingertips.
Spread dough to 1/4 to 1/3-inch thickness on bottom of pans.
