Dutch Apple Pie Recipe
I first tried Dutch Apple Pie at my European neighbors party. The taste completely bowled me over; asked them for the recipe and since then it has become a staple Sunday item in my household . Ingredients
Plain pastry
2 apples
3/4 cup sifted brown sugar
1/4 cup sifted pastry flour
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 cup softened butter
1/2 cup sweet cream
Directions
Line a 9 inch pan with plain pastry.
Pare and core apples, cut in eighths and arrange in the pie pan.
Mix together brown sugar, flour, spices, and butter.
Sprinkle over apples.
Pour sweet cream over this.
Bake at 450F until it begins to brown (about 20 minutes), reduce heat to 325F and continue to bake another 20 minutes.
Serve slightly warm with cheese
