Dutch Apple Cake Recipe
Dutch Apple Cake has a fine taste. The cream and butter gives the Dutch Apple Cake a delightful taste. Must catch it.
Ingredients
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons sugar
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 cup chilled heavy cream
3 medium-sized apples, washed, quartered, cored and pared
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2 tablespoons butter or margarine, melted
Directions
Sift flour, 3 tablespoons sugar, baking powder, and salt together into a bowl.
Beat cream until it piles softly.
With a fork, lightly blend whipped cream into dry ingredients.
Turn into a greased 9x9x2-inch baking pan and spread evenly.
Cut each apple quarter into 3 slices.
Arrange slices in parallel rows on batter; press into batter.
Combine 1/4 cup sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle evenly over apples.
Pour melted butter over top.
Bake at 400°F about 25 minutes, or until cake tests done.
Cut into squares.
