Ingredients

 
1. Potato - 4 (Peel skin and cut in to small pieces)
 
2. Onion - 1/2 cup
 
3. Grated coconut - 1/2 cup
 
4. Tomato - 1 (finely chopped)
 
5. Fennel seeds - 2 tsp
 
6. Turmeric powder - 2 tsp
 
7. Red chilly powder - 4 tsp (as per taste)
 
8. Curry leaves - 8 nos
 
9. Oil - for frying
 
10. Salt - as per taste

Directions

1. Grind the grated cocnut, onion and fennel seeds in to a fine paste.
2. To the potatoes add the paste, turmeric powder, red chilly powder, tomatoes, curry leaves, salt and mix well.
3. Heat oil in kadai, put the mixed potatoes and add enough water and cook covered.
4. After the potatoes are well cooked, remove the lid and saute till the excess water disappears.
5. Now add oil slowly and deep fry till golden brown.
Tastes excellent with murungai keerai sambar rice( check out in my recipe) or any dal rice.
