Drumstick Lime Sambar Recipe

Ingredients
| 300 gms. pink masoor dal or lentils | ||
| 6 drumsticks, stringed and cut into 3-inch pieces | ||
| Sambhar powder | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Coriander | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| 4-6 green chillies, deseeded and finely chopped | ||
| Turmeric powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Fenugreek seeds | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Mustard seeds | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Garlic | 1 Tablespoon, sliced | |
| Curry leaves | 2 | |
| Juice of 2 sour limes | ||
| Salt | To Taste | |

Directions
Clean and boil the drumsticks in salted water till tender.
Wash the dal and cook in the pressure cooker along with turmeric and salt and 5 cups of water.
Heat 3 tablespoons oil in a large pan. Add the sliced garlic, the green chillies and the mustard and fenugreek seeds and mix gently to and fry until the garlic gets soft. Add the curry leaves and the sambhar powder and three cups of water. Allow to boil for 5 minutes. Add the cooked dal and mix vigorously. Allow to simmer for 5 minutes more.
Add the cooked drumsticks and simmer for another 5 minutes.
Sprinkle the chopped coriander on top of the dal, add the lime juice and serve immediately with white rice and papads.
