Drop Yeast Doughnuts Recipe
These drop yeast doughnuts are dessert doughnuts deep fried and drizzled with honey and cinnamon. Delicious and mouth watering, you can try these drop yeast doughnuts once in a while to treat yourself. I made these for a party with friends and they were an absolute hit. try them for yourself!
Ingredients
| Active dry yeast | 2 | |
| Warm water | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| All purpose flour | 4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Vegetable oil or olive oil or a combination of the two for deep frying | ||
| Honey and cinnamon | ||
Directions
Dissolve yeast in 1 cup warm water in a small bowl.
Add 1 1/2 cups flour to yeast.
Beat batter with a wooden spoon until smooth.
Cover with a towel and put into a warm place until batter is double in bulk.
Pour into a larger bowl, add remaining water, salt, and flour to make a thick but runny batter.
Cover with a towel and put into a warm place until batter is double in bulk and begins to bubble.
Half fill a deep fryer with oil.
Heat just until smoking.
Drop batter by tablespoonfuls into oil; occasionally dip spoon in oil before dipping in batter.
Cook until golden brown.
Remove with a slotted spoon.
Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with cinnamon.
Serve hot
