Dried Fruit Pie Recipe
Ingredients
4 cups water
3 cups assorted dried fruits (1 cup raisins, 1 cup dates, 1 cup apples or apricots)
2 tablespoons butter
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup chopped nuts
1 partially baked 9 inch whole wheat pie crust
Directions
Bring the water and fruit to a boil.
Reduce the heat.
Simmer until very thick.
Stir in the butter and flour.
Remove from the heat.
Blend half of mixture at a time in a blender.
Stir in the chopped nuts.
Fill the crust.
Bake 20 minutes at 350 Degree.
This pie looks like dark molasses pie.
It is delicious and slightly tart.
Add almond topping if desired.
