Dried Fruit & Nut Bars Recipe
Ingredients

| Firmly packed brown sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Vanilla | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Butter/Margarine | 3 Tablespoon, melted | |
| All purpose flour | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| 1/2 teaspoon each baking powder, salt, and grated orange peel | ||
| Walnuts | 1 Cup (16 tbs), finely chopped | |
| Pitted dates | 2 Cup (16 tbs), finely chopped | |
| Powdered sugar | ||
Directions
In a medium sized bowl, beat eggs until foamy; then beat in sugar, vanilla, and butter.
Stir in flour, baking powder, salt, and orange peel; then mix in nuts and fruit.
Spread batter evenly in a 9 inch square baking dish.
Shield each corner with a 2 inch triangle of foil.
Microwave on MEDIUM (50%) for 6 minutes, rotating dish 1/4 turn after 3 minutes.
Microwave on HIGH (100%) for 4 to 6 minutes, removing foil shields after 2 minutes.
Cookies should spring back when lightly pressed in center; moist spots, when touched, should come off on your finger and cookies underneath should be dry.
Cover with wax paper and let stand for 15 minutes.
Cut into 1 by 2 inch bars while still warm.
Let cool in dish, then dust each bar with powdered sugar.
