Ingredients
1/3 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup dried prunes, chopped
1/2 cup currants
1/2 cup oatmeal
Directions
In a bowl, cream shortening, sugar and brown sugar.
Whisk in egg.
Set aside.
In a second bowl, sift together all purpose flour, baking soda and salt.
Fold into liquid mixture.
Add prunes, currants and oatmeal, mixing well.
Shape dough into 2 rolls.
Wrap in wax paper.
Refrigerate 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 350 °F (175 °C).
Butter a cookie sheet.
Remove dough from refrigerator.
Slice each roll into 12 cookies.
Place on a cookie sheet.
Bake in oven 15 minutes or so.
