Dried Fruit Compote Recipe
Ingredients
| Orange juice | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Honey | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Orange zest | 1 Teaspoon, finely grated | |
| Lemon zest | 1 Teaspoon, finley grated | |
| Lemon juice | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Pinch each ground cloves and nutmeg | ||
| 8 ounces mixed dried fruit such as prunes, apricots, apples, peaches | ||
| 1/4 cup currants or raisins | ||
Directions
MAKING
1. Take a medium saucepan and mix the orange juice, orange zest, honey, lemon zest, cloves, lemon juice, and nutmeg.
2. Bring this mixture to boil on medium heat and reduce the flame. Simmer for 5 minutes.
3. Stir in the dried fruit and currants in the saucepan. Bring it to boil. Cover the pan and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or till the fruit are tender.
SERVING
4. Transfer the dish in a serving bowl and let the fruit to cool at room temperature. Keep the syrup and serve right away.
