Dried Apple Pie Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 cups dried tart apple slices | ||
| Water | 2 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Ground cinnamon | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Pastry for 2-crust 9-inch pie, unbaked | ||
Directions
Soak apples overnight in water.
Cook slowly, covered, in same water until apples are soft, about 30 minutes.
Force through coarse sieve or food mill.
Add sugar and cinnamon and turn into pastry-lined 9-inch pie pan.
Cover with top crust.
Cut slits in top.
Bake in preheated hot oven (425°F.) for 10 minutes.
Reduce heat to moderate (350°F.) and bake for about 30 minutes longer.
