Dressed Up Pork Steaks Recipe
Ingredients
| 4 pork shoulder steaks, cut 1/2 inch thick | ||
| White bread slice | 4 , toasted | |
| Egg | 1 , beaten | |
| Orange peel | 2 Teaspoon, grated | |
| Orange juice | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Celery | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), finley chopped | |
| Onion | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), finley chopped | |
| Poultry seasoning | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Paprika | ||
Directions
Trim excess fat from pork steaks; cook trimmings in skillet till 1 tablespoon fat accumulates.
Discard trimmings.
Brown the steaks in hot fat.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Cut toasted bread in small cubes.
Combine egg, orange peel, and juice; add bread cubes, celery, onion, poultry seasoning, and salt.
Shape orange dressing into mounds by pressing bread mixture into a 1/3 cup measure.
Place a mound of dressing on each steak.
Pour 1/4 cup water in bottom of skillet.
Cover and simmer 30 minutes.
Remove cover and cook 15 minutes longer.
If necessary, add a little more water.
Sprinkle dressing mounds with paprika.
