1 1/2 pounds fresh lump crabmeat, drained and flaked
1 cup soft breadcrumbs
2 eggs, beaten
2 tablespoons finely chopped onion
2 tablespoons finely chopped green pepper
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 teaspoon ground thyme
1/8 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup all purpose flour
Vegetable oil
Hot sauce or cocktail sauce (optional)
Directions
Combine crabmeat, breadcrumbs, eggs, onion, green pepper, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, and salt, stirring well.
Shape into 12 patties (2 inches in diameter); chill well .
Dredge crab cakes in flour; fry in hot oil until golden brown, turning once.
Drain on paper towels.
