Classic Doughnuts Recipe

Ingredients
10 oz. flour
pinch salt
3 tblspns, butter
2 tblspns, sweetened
1 level tspn, dry yeast
condensed milk
deep oil for frying
Directions
Rub butter into sifted flour and salt till it looks like mealie meal.
Sprinkle yeast on top of 3/4-cup tepid water in which is mixed 1 tspn, sugar.
Leave to bud (bubbles rise on top), in a warm place.
Put condensed milk in centre of flour and add the yeast.
Knead thor- oughly.
Cover and leave to rise in a warm place until doubled in bulk.
Roll out and cut into ring doughnuts with a doughnut cutter.
Let rise again on a lightly floured tin in a warm place.
Drop into deep hot oil and let them cook to a nice golden colour on both sides.
Roll in castor sugar as soon as you take them out of the oil.
