Recipe Story

this unique recipe forced me to think about the knowledge of food with me as it was being made by one of my friend's mother who was around 80-85 yrs old. she told that they were use to make this dish with stale indian breads but now the bread has made their work easy.

Ingredients

 Milk1 Liter
 Ghee100 Gram
 Water250 Milliliter
 Silver leaf1 (to garnish)
 Milk bread slices/Brown bread slices6 (sides cut)
 Cardamom powder1 Teaspoon
 Saffron1 Gram
 Nuts50 Gram, slivered
 Sugar100 Gram

Directions

soak the bread in water for 2 minutes
boil ther milk & simmer it till it is reduced to half
add saffron to it & keep aside
make a sugar syrup of sugar with water
in a wok heat ghee
squeeze the bread with your palms till almost all of the water is squeezed out
add the squeezed bread to the ghee & cardamom powder
keep it stirring and do not allow to stick at the bottom of wok
add the sugar syrup to it when the colouris slightly brown
cook till the mixture is thickened to dripping consistancy
now add the milk with saffron
cook further till it gains the same dropping consistancy
serve hot or cold garnished with slivered nuts And silver leaves
