Double Ka Mitha Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 cups of milk reduced to 1 1/2 cups | ||
| Sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Pinch of saffron and 1/4 cup water made into a thick syrup | ||
| 6-7 slices of bread, ghee to fry | ||
| 200 gms. mawa or clotted cream | ||
| Raisins | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Some chopped nuts | ||
| Cardamom powder | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
Directions
Remove crust from bread and cut each slice into half.
Keep aside 2-3 tbs of sugar syrup and mix the rest with milk and pour into a bowl.
Fry raisins and nuts and keep aside.
Heat a little ghee at a time and fry bread slices on both sides and dip them immediately into the milk-syrup mixture.
Take out and arrange them in a shallow baking dish.
Cover slices with mawa or clotted cream.
Glaze them with remaining sugar syrup.
Decorate with raisins and nuts.
Sprinkle cardamom powder and bake 10-15 mins in a mod, oven.
Serve warm or chilled.
