Ingredients
2 medium potatoes, cut in 1/4" slices
1/2 cup boiling water
2 medium carrots, cut in sticks
1 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. milk
1/3 cup grated American cheese
Directions
Place potatoes in boiling water in heavy covered saucepan; place carrots on top of potatoes.
Sprinkle with salt.
Cover and cook over medium heat for about 5 min.
Reduce heat; simmer 20 to 25 min. (You may have to add more water if saucepan is not tightly covered.) When potatoes and carrots are tender, drain and add milk; sprinkle with grated cheese.
Replace cover; turn off heat and allow cheese to melt.
