Double Boiler Meringue Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 egg white, unbeaten | ||
| Sugar | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Water | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1 Pinch | |
Directions
Put in top of double boiler and beat with dover beater or electric mixer until thoroughly mixed.
Place over rapidly boiling water (but not touching) and beat 1 minute.
Remove from heat, beat 2 minutes longer or until it stands in peaks.
This meringue needs no baking but may be browned under broiler if desired.
