Dominican Barbecue Sauce Recipe
Ingredients
| Nectar | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), pureed | |
| Tamarind | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), pureed | |
| Ketchup | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| White vinegar | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Firmly packed dark brown sugar – 2 tablespoons | ||
| Butter | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Lime juice or Lemon juice – 1 tablespoon | ||
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Onion – 1, finely grated | ||
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), minced | |
| Water | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
MAKING
1) In a saucepan, combine together all the ingredients over moderate heat. Stir well.
2) Bring the mixture to a boil.
3) Reduce the heat and simmer gently for about 10 minutes, frequently stirring.
SERVING
4) Serve or use as preferred.
