Dilly Cookies Recipe
Ingredients
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
2 eggs
1 teaspoon soda
3 cups flour
Directions
Cream butter and sugar; add well beaten eggs.
Divide in two and roll out.
FILLING: Cut 1/2 lb. dates fine, add 1/2 cup water, 3/4 cup sugar.
Cook dry, add 1/2 cup nuts.
Cool.
Spread on dough, roll.
Let stand overnight in refrigerator.
Slice thin. (Add vanilla if desired).
Cook at 375 to 400° F.
I usually wrap these rolls in wax paper.
