Digestive Wholemeal Biscuits Recipe

Ingredients
1/4-lb. butter
1/4-lb. moist brown sugar
1 lb. unsifted boermeal
pinch salt
1/3-tspn. Bi-carb.
1/3-cup sour milk
4 level tspns. Baking powder
Directions
Mix meal, salt and baking powder.
Rub in butter till like crumbs.
Mix in sugar.
Then make a stiff dough with the milk, in which the Bi-carb.
has been dissolved.
Roll out to 1/8th" thickness.
Cut into rounds and prick all over.
Bake at 400° F till a pale brown.
Cool and coat with chocolate, if desired.
Grate some chocolate into the top of a double boiler and stand over hot water until it is melted.
