Diamond Applesauce Brownies Recipe

| Orange peel | 1 Teaspoon, shredded | |

| Baking powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1⁄2 Teaspoon | |
| Baking soda | 1⁄4 Teaspoon | |
| Walnuts | 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped |

Directions
Cook and stir over medium heat till butter melts; remove from heat.
Beat in applesauce, egg, orange peel, and vanilla.
Sift together flour, baking powder, salt, and baking soda; stir into applesauce mixture.
Stir in nuts.
Spread mixture in greased 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch jelly roll pan.
Bake at 350° about 15 minutes.
While warm top with Orange Glaze: Combine 1 1/2 cups sifted confectioners sugar, 1/2 tea spoon vanilla, dash salt, and enough orange juice (about 2 tablespoons) to make mixture of glaze consistency.
Cut in diamonds or bars.
