Deviled Oysters Recipe
This deviled oysters recipe is a simple yet delicious recipe. Served as a side or appetizer, this pan broiled deviled oyster is prepard with breadcrumbs and butter. Spiced with mustard, they are great for parties or brunches.
Ingredients
| Dry mustard | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Bread crumbs | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Oysters | 12 | |
| Melted butter | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Egg | 1 , beaten |
Directions
Mix mustard and a little water to a smooth paste in a small saucepan.
Add freshly opened oysters and cook for 2 minutes, stirring with a gentle hand.
Oysters should be thoroughly coated with the mustard.
Remove from stove and, when cool, dip them, one by one, in beaten egg, then coat with fresh bread crumbs.
Place in a buttered pan, sprinkle tops with melted butter, and broil quickly in a preheated broiler to brown both sides.
