Deviled Green Beans Recipe
My passion for Deviled Green Beans grew during high school days. A delicious Side Dish, the Deviled Green Beans completes your meal. Beans is one of the few ingredients I like to include in my daily cooking and this is my comfort recipe that I usually prepare using it. In my estimation, if one calls oneself a good cook, one ought to have a personal recipe of Deviled Green Beans, just like I do.
Ingredients
1 medium-sized onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 green pepper, chopped
1 jar (2 oz.) sliced pimientos, drained and chopped
3 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 teaspoons prepared mustard
1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce
1 cup (about 1/4 lb.) shredded longhorn or process Cheddar cheese
2 cans (1 lb. each) cut green beans, drained, or 2 packages (9 oz. each) frozen cut green beans, cooked in boiling, salted water
Directions
Saute onion, garlic, green pepper, and pimientos in butter until onions are limp.
Remove from heat.
Stir in mustard, tomato sauce, and cheese.
Combine beans and sauce; turn into a 1 1/2-quart casserole.
Bake covered in a 350° oven for 20 minutes; uncover and bake 20 minutes more, or until cheese is melted.
