Devil's Food Cake Recipe
Ingredients
| Butter | 2 Ounce | |
| Sugar | 8 Ounce | |
| Eggs | 2 | |
| 6 oz.self raising flour | ||
| Sour milk | 4 Tablespoon | |
| Black coffee | 6 Tablespoon | |
| Plain chocolate | 2 Ounce | |
| Soda bicarbonate | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Vanilla essence | 1 Teaspoon | |
Directions
Grease two 9 in. sandwich tins.
Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Beat in eggs gradually.
Add flour and sour milk alternately.
Pour boiling coffee on to melted choclate and add bicarbonate.
Cool a little, add to mixture with vanilla.
Bake in a moderate oven, Mark 5, 375°F., for 25 minutes.
When cold, fill and spread with frosting.
