Ingredients

 Flour1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Baking powder1/2 Teaspoon
 Soda-bicarb, 1 to 2 pinches
 Salt1 Pinch
 Milk powder2 Tablespoon
 Butter or margarine, 80 gms (5 tablespoons)
 Nutmeg powder1 Pinch
 Powdered sugar, 3/4 to 1 cup
 Vanilla1/4 Teaspoon
 Milk, approximately 3/4 cup

Directions

Sift together flour, Soda-bicarb, baking powder, salt and milk powder.
Cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add nutmeg and essence.
Add dry ingredients, 2 tablespoons at a time, alternately with milk.
Stir only enough after each addition to blend thoroughly.
The batter should be of drooping consistency.
Add extra milk if necessary.
Pour the batter in a greased and floured tin, 8" x 8" and 2 inch deep and bake in a moderate oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
Invert on a cooling rack.
Cool.
Dust the top surface of the cake with icing sugar.
Garnish with peeled orange sections, pieces of pineapple rings, grapes, glazed cherries, etc.
