Deluxe Acorn Squash Recipe
Ingredients
| Acorn squash | 1 Large | |
| Ground pork | 1/4 pound | |
| 1 large apple, peeled, cored, and chopped | ||
| Brown sugar | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Ground nutmeg | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Ground cinnamon | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Butter or margarine | ||
Directions
GETTING READY
1) Preheat oven at 350°.
2) Cut squash in half and discard the seeds.
MAKING
3) In a saucepan, bring water to boil.
4) Add squash halves to cook in boiling water for 10 minutes by placing the lid on top.
5) Scoop out the soft pulp from the squash shells and place aside.
6) In a skillet, add pork to cook until brown.
7) Add apple and pulp to the skillet.
8) Cook over medium heat for 10 minutes by frequent stirring.
9) Add sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon and salt to combine all together.
10) Fill the empty squash shells with this mixture.
11) Place butter on top.
12) Use a shallow pan to place the stuffed shells.
13) Place the pan inside oven and bake for 30 minutes.
