Deep Dish Prune and Apricot Pies Recipe

Ingredients
1 1/2cups cooked prunes, drained
1 1/2cups cooked apricots, drained
1 tablespoon cornstarch or quick-cooking tapioca
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon grated lemon rind
1 1/2 tablespoons melted butter or margarine
1 cup corn syrup
1 recipe pastry
Directions
Pit and halve prunes.
Mix with apricots and place in 6 in- dividual deep pie dishes.
Combine remaining ingredients except pastry; stir until blended.
Pour mixture equally over fruit.
Roll pastry 1/8 inch thick and cut in narrow strips.
Arrange in a lattice pattern across top of pies.
Make a rim with one long strip.
Bake in a hot oven (450° F) 10 minutes; reduce heat to moderate 350° F and bake 35 minutes longer or until crust is brown.
Makes 6. deep dish pies.
