Deep Dish Cherry Pie Recipe
This Deep Dish Cherry Pie is a classic, indulgent dessert, made tasty with pitted cherries on plain pastry crust. One of the very simple deep dish pies to make, this Deep Dish Cherry Pie is creamy enough and full with flavor.
Ingredients
4 cups pitted cherries (fresh)
1 cup sugar
5 tbsp. flour
1 recipe Plain Pastry
Directions
Mix together cherries, sugar, and flour, and let stand one-half hour.
Make Plain Pastry recipe chill.
Line oblong baking-dish vwith chilled pastry, allowing one inch over sides for fluting.
Fill baking dish with cherry mixture, cover, with pastry, and seal edges by fluting.
Prick top pastry with fork, brush with milk.
Bake in hot oven (450 F.) 15.minutes reduce to moderate (350 F.) and continue baking about 35 minutes.
