Deep Fried Squid Recipe

I grew up eating this Deep Fried Squid frequently and am happy to share this recipe with you. It is a staple food of the Chinese people which has now gained popularity the world over. It is always prepared with Seafood as the key ingredient. One trial wont be enough for this Deep Fried Squid recipe, I am sure you will be making it again!.

Ingredients

 
1 pound fresh squid
 
1/2 cup flour
 
1/4 cup cornstarch
 
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
 
Oil for deep frying
 
1/2 teaspoon salt
 
1 egg
 
1/3 cup water
 
1 1/2 tablespoons oil

Directions

1. Clean squid and cut each in 4 parts.
2. Blend together flour, cornstarch, baking powder and salt. Then beat egg and add, along with cold water and oil. Beat with an egg beater until batter is smooth. Dip squid in this batter to coat.
3. Meanwhile heat deep-frying oil. Add squid, a few pieces at a time, and deep-fry until golden. (Do not overcook.) Drain on paper toweling and serve.
