Combine all other ingredients except pork, oil and pepper to make a batter the consistency of a thick cream.
Mix in pork.
Heat oil in a wok until almost smoking.
Dip the pieces of beancurd, one by one, into the batter and turn carefully with the fingers until well coated.
Put into the oil and deep fry for about 3-4 minutes until golden brown.
Sprinkle with pepper and serve immediately.
