Classic Deep Dish Peach Pie Recipe
Deep dish peach pie is a devilishly easy fruit pie made with fresh peaches. Spiced with nutmeg and cinnamon, the deep dish peach pie is baked to prepare and has a lovely sugary topping.
Ingredients
| 8 medium size firm ripe peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced 1/2 inch thick | ||
| 1/4 cup plus 4 teaspoons firmly packed light brown sugar | ||
| Ground cinnamon | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Ground nutmeg | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| Flour | 2 Tablespoon | |
| 1 tablespoon unsalted margarine, softened | ||
Directions
Preheat the oven to 375°F.
In an ungreased 1 quart baking dish or souffle dish, place the peaches, the 1/4 cup brown sugar, the cinnamon, and nutmeg, and stir together.
In a small bowl, blend the remaining brown sugar with the flour and margarine and sprinkle evenly over the peaches.
Bake for 30 minutes or until the peaches are tender.
