Classic Deep Dish Peach Pie Recipe

Ingredients

 
8 medium size firm ripe peaches, peeled, pitted, and sliced 1/2 inch thick
 
1/4 cup plus 4 teaspoons firmly packed light brown sugar
 
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
 
1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
 
2 tablespoon flour
 
1 tablespoon unsalted margarine, softened

Directions

Preheat the oven to 375°F.
In an ungreased 1 quart baking dish or souffle dish, place the peaches, the 1/4 cup brown sugar, the cinnamon, and nutmeg, and stir together.
In a small bowl, blend the remaining brown sugar with the flour and margarine and sprinkle evenly over the peaches.
Bake for 30 minutes or until the peaches are tender.
