Deep Dish Apple Pie Recipe
Ingredients
| 6 c. sliced, peeled, tart apples | ||
| All purpose flour | 2 | |
| Granulated Sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Nutmeg | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Lemon juice | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Butter/Margarine | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| Cinnamon | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Flaky pastry | ||
Directions
Arrange apples in a baking dish about 10" x 6" x 2".
Blend remaining, ingredients (except pastry), and sprinkle over the top of the apples.
Roll out a sheet of pastry 10 1/2" x 6 1/2" x 1/8" thick, and place over the top of the apples.
Fold under 1/2" of the pastry, and crimp edges with floured tines of a fork.
Make several gashes in the top center.
Bake in a hot oven of 425 F for 40 min.
Serve witli cream, Hard Sauce, Sterling Sauce, or ice cream.
