This week Rebecca is in the kitchen showing you how to make two of her families favorite holiday cookies, a delicious buttery spritz cookie, and a light sweet meringue with chocolate chips cookie. Directions

FOR THE SPITZ COOKIES

GETTING READY
1. Preheat the oven to 400 degree.

MAKING
2. Combine in a mixing bowl egg yolks, butter, sugar and vanilla, using a hand mixer beat until well combined.
3. Gradually add the flour to the mixture and mix until well combined.
4. Place the dough in the cookie press and press the cookies onto a cookie sheet.
5. Once done sprinkle colored sugar sprinkles.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 7-10 minutes.
7. Once done remove and allow it to cool on a cooling rack.

SERVING
8. Serve the spitz cookies along with a glass of hot chocolate.

FOR THE CHOCOLATE CHIP MERINGUE COOKIES

GETTING READY
1. Preheat the oven to 400 degree.
2. Grease a cookie sheet with cooking spray.

MAKING
3. In a stand mixer bowl combine egg whites and cream of tartar and beat until soft peaks form.
4. Add sugar and beat until the sugar is incorporated.
5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
6. Spoon meringue onto the cookie sheet.
7. Place the cookies sheet in oven and turn off the heat; let the meringue sit in the oven 1 ½ hour or overnight.

SERVING
8. Serve the chocolate chip meringue along with hot chocolate.
