Date Dumplings Recipe

Ingredients
1 1/2-cups flour
3/4-cup milk
14-cup chopped dates
1 tblspn, butter
1 tblspn, apricot jam
1/2-tspn. cinnamon
1/2-tspn. ground ginger
1/3-tblspn. Bi-carb.

Directions
Sift flour, salt and spices together.
Stir in dates and jam.
Mix soda with milk.
In a large saucepan, boil together: 4 cups water and 1 cup sugar.
Boil for a few minutes.
Then drop spoonsful of the dough into the boiling syrup.
Cover tightly with lid and boil for 15 minutes.
Serve with custard.
