Eggless Date Cake Recipe
This date cake is a healthy and exotic recipe to try. Sweet, sticky and full of amino acids, dates boost energy levels. Date cake is a popular festive food and is easy to make. This cake can be enjoyed at breakfast,teatime or even as a dessert.
Ingredients
Unsifted meal - 2 breakfast cups
Soda Bi-carb - 1 teaspoon
Cream of Tartar – a pinch
Sugar - 1 teacup
Butter - 4 oz
Dates - 1 lb
Nuts - 1 small cup, chopped
Milk - 1 cup
Directions
GETTING READY
1. Preheat the oven to 340° F
2. Grease an 8-inch square or round tin.
MAKING
3. Into a large bowl, combine the dry ingredients.
4. Add sugar.
5. Rub butter well into this.
6. Stir in nuts and dates.
7. Gradually add the milk and stir lightly and quickly, just enough to moisten the mixture.
8. Turn and spread in greased baking tin.
9. Bake in a moderate oven for about one hour or until golden on top and spongy to touch.
10. Remove from oven and let cool in pan then invert on wire racks.

11. Cut into squares or slice and serve warm.
