Date Bars Recipe
Ingredients
| Eggs | 2 Small | |
| ConfectionerÂ’s sugar- 1 cup | ||
| Shortening | 1 Tablespoon, melted | |
| Cake flour | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), sifted | |
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Baking powder | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Dates | 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Nuts- , 3/4 cup chopped | ||
| Vanilla | 1 Teaspoon | |
Directions
GETTING READY
1.Start by preheating the oven to 325F degrees
MAKING
2.In a bowl, beat eggs until light
3.Add sugar and shortening
4.Blend well
5.Sift dry ingredients together and add
6.Add dates, nuts and vanilla
7.Blend well and pour into greased shallow cake pan
8.Bake in slow oven for 25 minutes
9.Cut into bars and roll in confectioners' sugar

10.Serve with a sauce of your choice
