Date Bars Recipe

2 eggs, beaten
1 cup sifted powdered sugar
1 tablespoon butter or margarine, melted
1/4 cup cake flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup chopped dates
3/4 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
1 teaspoon vanilla extract Additional powdered sugar
Directions
Combine first 3 ingredients, beating well.
Sift dry ingredients; add to egg mixture.
Mix well, and stir in dates, pecans, and vanilla.
Pour into a greased 8-inch square pan, and bake at 325° for 25 to 30 minutes.
Cool and cut into bars.
Dust with additional powdered sugar
