Date & Sesame Won Ton Recipe
Date & Sesame Won Ton has a grand taste. Date & Sesame Won Ton gets its taste from dates mixed with eggs and sesame seeds, topped with sugar powder. Date & Sesame Won Ton is loved by many people around the world.
Ingredients
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup finely chopped pitted dates
1 tablespoon softened butter or margarine
1/2 package (1 -lb. size) won ton skins
1 egg, lightly beaten
Salad oil
Powdered sugar
Directions
In a heavy frying pan over medium heat, toast sesame seeds, shaking pan occasionally, until they turn golden and begin to pop cool.
Crush seeds coarsely in a mortar.
Combine with brown sugar, dates, and butter.
Fill and wrap won ton according to directions using 1 teaspoon filling for each won ton and moistening edges with egg to seal.
Into a deep pan, pour oil to a depth of about 1 1/2 inches and heat to 350° on a deep-frying thermometer.
Fry 4 to 6 won ton at a time for 1 minute or until golden.
Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
When completely cooled, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Store in an airtight container
