Date and Nut Fingers Recipe
Ingredients
| 1/4 cup melted butter, margarine or shortening | ||
| Sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Eggs | 3 , Well beaten | |
| Flour | 1 Cup (16 tbs), sifted | |
| Baking powder | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| Dates | 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Nuts | 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Powdered sugar | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
1. Start oven, set at Moderate, 350° F. Line a shallow pan, about 8 by 14 inches, with waxed paper and rub the paper with margarine.
2. Mix the ingredients, with the exception of the powdered sugar, in the order given; sift the flour, baking powder and salt together.
3. Spread the mixture in the pan. Bake 15 to 20 minutes. While still warm, cut in narrow strips and roll each in the powdered sugar.
