| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| 1/3 cup hot strong coffee | ||
| Aniseed | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Coriander seed | 2 Teaspoon, crushed | |
Directions
Cream together shortening and sugar.
Beat in egg; stir in molasses.
Sift together flour, soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture alternately with coffee, mixing thoroughly after each addition.
Stir in aniseed and coriander seed.
Drop from teaspoon 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 350° for 8 to 10 minutes.
Remove from pan and cool on rack.
