| 2 Tart Green Apples, peeled and cut up | ||
| Butter | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Onion | 1 Medium, sliced | |
| Water | 1 Quart | |
| Red wine vinegar | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Cloves | 2 | |
| Bay Leaf | 1 | |

Directions
Heat butter in large saucepan, saute onion and apples for 3 to 4 minutes.
Add water, vinegar and seasonings; bring to a boil and add cabbage.
Cover and simmer for 45 minutes, or until tender.
Use a slotted spoon to serve.
