 1 Med. Head Red Cabbage, finely cut or sliced
 2 Tart Green Apples, peeled and cut up
 Butter2 Tablespoon
 Onion1 Medium, sliced
 Water1 Quart
 Red wine vinegar1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 Sugar1/2 Cup (16 tbs)
 Salt1/2 Teaspoon
 Pepper1/4 Teaspoon
 Cloves2
 Bay Leaf1
 Juice of 1/2 Lemon

Directions

Heat butter in large saucepan, saute onion and apples for 3 to 4 minutes.
Add water, vinegar and seasonings; bring to a boil and add cabbage.
Cover and simmer for 45 minutes, or until tender.
Use a slotted spoon to serve.
