| 1/4 tsp roasted and powdered cummin seed | ||
| 1/4 tsp coriander seed powder | ||
| 1 finely chopped chilli | ||
| Turmeric powder | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Garam masala | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| 1 tsp finely chopped coriander leaves | ||
| Vinegar | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Dry breadcrumbs | ||
| Oil for shallow frying | ||
| 1 onion cut into slices | ||
| Coriander sprig | 1 (TO GARNISH:) | |
| Lemon slices | ||

Directions
Boil dal until mushy and the water is completely absorbed.
Cool and mash with a fork.
Mix all the ingredients up to salt and pepper together and make into 2 x 1/4 thick round patties.
When ready to serve, coat on both sides with bread crumbs and shallow fry.
