Dal Curry Recipe
I got this Dal Curry recipe from my neighbor who is an excellent cook. Even though Dal Curry is a Side Dish I relish it any time of the day. Ingredients
500 gm yellow dal
75 gm onion, chopped
20 gm green chillies, chopped
5 gm cloves
20 gm turmeric powder
1 It water
1/2 It coconut milk
20 gm salt
For the tempering
50 ml oil
10 gm curry leaves
10 gm shallots, sliced
2 tsp mustard seeds
10 gm dry chillies
Directions
Wash and drain the dal well.
Put lentils in a saucepan.
Add onion, green chillies, cloves and turmeric.
Add water and bring to a boil.
Cover and cook on low heat unit the lentils are soft.
Add coconut milk and salt and cook for 5 minutes.
In a separate pan, pour oil and prepare the tempering.
Sputter mustard seeds and add the remaining ingredients.
Pour cooked lentils into the tempering.
Close the lid and turn off the heat.
