Dal Dhokadi Recipe

Ingredients
Tuvar dal 250 grams
Cashewnut 25 grams
Groundnut 50 grams
Wheat flour 200 grams
Tomatoes 2
Green chillies 3
Red chilli powder 2 tbsp
Brown sugar 100 grams
Green chilli paste 3 tbsp
Turmeric powder 1 tbsp
Garam masala 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds 1 tbsp
Tamarind 1 tbsp
Cloves 3 to 4
Ajama 1 tsp
Cinnamon 2
Cilantro leaves 1/2 cup
Ghee 3 to 4 tbsp
Oil 4 to 5 tbsp
Salt as per taste
Directions
First, sift the wheat flour.
Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, ajama and salt to it, and mix them well.
Add oil for kneading the flour to roti like consistency.
Put the tuvar dal in pressure cooker after washing it and wait for three whistles.
Let the dal get cooled and then remove it.
Heat the ghee and the oil in a pot.
Then put the mustard seeds, cinnamon and cloves into the heated oil.
When you hear them crackling, add cilantro leaves and green chillies.
Sprinkle a pinch of asafetida and pour the tuver dal into it.
Add brown sugar, tamarind, groundnut, cashew nuts, red chilli powder and garam masala, and mix them thoroughly.
Add turmeric powder, tomato pulp and 2 cups of water.
Salt should be added according to taste.
Wait for the dal to boil.
Take the flour and roll out big rotis.
Cut them into pieces and put these roti pieces into the boiling dal.
Boil for 10 minutes and keep aside.
