Daffodil Cake Recipe
Ingredients
| Egg -10 whites | ||
| Cream of tartar | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Sugar | 1 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Vanilla extract | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Almond extract | 2 Drop | |
| Flour -1 cup all-purpose | ||
| Egg - 4 yolks | ||
| Orange rind | 2 Teaspoon, grated | |
| Orange Glaze -as required | ||
Directions
MAKING
1)Keep egg out, at room temperature, beat egg white, cream of tartar, and salt until foamy.
2)Gradually add two tablespoons of sugar , beating until stiff peaks form.
3)Fold it in flavorings and flour and divide mixture in half.
4)Setting it aside.
5)Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored.
6)Fold yolks and orange rind into one portion of the egg white mixture.
7)Spoon one-third of only egg white mixture into an ungreased 10-inch tube pan, and top with one-third of yolk mixture.
8)Repeat layers twice, cut through batter with a knife, using a swirling motion.
FINALIZING
9)Bake at 375° for 30 minutes or until golden.
10)Invert pan on a bottle, let cool.
11)Remove from pan, drizzle with Orange Glaze.
SERVING
12)Serve it as snack.
